ISL 2023-24: Teams ranked based on market value
Unsurprisingly, a Kolkata club tops the ISL market value chart!
India’s top-flight football competition, the Indian Super League (ISL) has developed by leaps and bounds over the last one decade. The 2023-24 season is the league’s iconic 10th edition and has seen the league expand to a 12-team affair in comparison to just eight teams in the inaugural edition.
The ISL teams have not just developed on the pitch, but have also gathered huge market values off the pitch. On that note, let us take a look at the market values of all the top-flight clubs.

12. Jamshedpur FC (MV – Rs 26.8 Cr)
Jamshedpur FC are placed 12th and have a market value Rs. 26.8 Cr. They have a squad size of 30 players, including six overseas players. They have played nine games, but have won just once so far.
11. NorthEast United FC (MV – Rs 29.4 Cr)
Next up are NorthEast United who have a market value of Rs. 29.4 Cr. The Highlanders have been a joy to watch this season and have completely turned things around. They are currently placed in the sixth position. NorthEast United has a squad size of 31 players including six foreign players. Their most valuable player is Palestine international Yaser Hamed with a market value of Rs. 3.6 Cr.
10. Chennaiyin FC (MV – Rs. 30.4 Cr)
Chennaiyin FC are placed in the 10th position and have a market value of Rs. 30.4 Cr. They have the third biggest squad in the league with a size of 33 players, including six foreigners.
Their most valuable player is Scottish forward Connor Shields who has a market value of Rs. 3.2 Cr.
9. Punjab FC (MV – Rs. 33.4 Cr)
The league’s latest entrants are ranked at the ninth position. They have a market value of Rs. 33.4 Cr and possess the largest squad in the league. Punjab FC have 37 players on their roster, including six foreign players.
Punjab’s most valuable player is Greek defender Dimitrios Chatziisaias with a market value of Rs. 3.6 Cr.
8. East Bengal FC (MV – Rs. 33.8 Cr)
The Kolkata giants have a market value of Rs. 33.8 Cr and are the league’s eighth-most valuable side. They have the joint second-biggest squad in the league with 34 players, including seven foreign players.
East Bengal‘s most valuable player is Australian defender Jordan Elsey with a market value of Rs. 3.2 Cr.
7. Odisha FC (MV – Rs. 35 Cr)
Sergio Lobera’s side are ranked seventh and have a market value of Rs. 35 Cr. The Juggernauts have the joint second-biggest squad in the league with a size of 34 players.
Odisha FC’s most valuable player is Brazilian target-man Diego Mauricio, who has a market value of Rs. 2.8 Cr.
6. Bengaluru FC (MV – Rs. 36.4 Cr)
2018-19 ISL champions Bengaluru FC are the league’s sixth-most valuable side with a market value of Rs. 36.4 Cr. The Blues have a squad depth of 30 players, including six overseas representatives.
They haven’t had the best of starts and have won just one game so far this season. Bengaluru FC’s most valuable asset is Dutch midfielder Keziah Veendorp with a market value of Rs. 4.4 Cr.
5. FC Goa (MV – Rs. 37.4 Cr)
FC Goa are placed fifth on the rankings and have a market value of Rs. 37.4 Cr. The Gaurs have the smallest squad in the league with just 26 players on board. They are currently unbeaten this season and are sitting at the top of the points table.
Their most valuable player is Moroccan speedster Noah Sadaoui, who has a market value of Rs. 4 Cr.
4. Hyderabad FC (MV – Rs. 39.4 Cr)
The Nizams have a market value of Rs. 39.4 Cr and are placed fourth on the rankings. Their squad consists of 29 players, including six foreigners. However, their performance on the pitch has not justified their squad’s market value.
The former champions are yet to win a game this season and are placed at the bottom of the points table. Mexican defender Oswaldo Alanis who left recently, was Hyderabad’s most valuable player with a market value of Rs. 6.4 Cr.
3. Mumbai City FC (MV – Rs. 45.6 Cr)
Two-time League Shield winners Mumbai City FC have a market value of Rs. 45.6 Cr and are the league’s third-most valuable team. They have had a great start to their campaign and are yet to lose a game.
The City Football Group owned club’s squad consists of 30 players, including seven overseas players. Their most valuable asset is Dutch defensive midfielder Yoëll van Nieff with a market value of Rs. 4 Cr.
2. Kerala Blasters (MV – Rs. 48.6 Cr)
Kerala Blasters are the ISL’s second-most valuable team with a market value of Rs. 48.6 Cr. They have a squad size of 30 players, including six foreigners. They have also had a good start to the 2023-24 season.
Kerala Blasters’ skipper Adrian Luna is their most valuable player with a market value of Rs. 6.8 Cr. He is also the league’s third-most valuable player.
1. Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MV – Rs. 62 Cr)
Mohun Bagan are unsurprisingly the league’s most valuable side. Their market value consists of astronomical figures and is much more than any other team in the league. Their value of Rs. 62 Cr not only makes them the most valuable team in India, but also one of the most valuable sides in Asia.
Australian international Jason Cummings is not just theirs but also the league’s most valuable player with a market value of Rs. 9.6 Cr.
