Chelsea set to demand massive fee for Reece James amid Real Madrid interest

James has been named captain of the Blues this season
Reece James, the captain of Chelsea, is being pursued by Real Madrid, who are looking for a long-term successor for right-back Dani Carvajal.
The Chelsea defender played in every game again on Wednesday, and the Spanish powerhouses will be keenly examining his play as they try to find methods to fortify their squad in the long run.
In a 2-0 win over Blackburn on Wednesday, James earned his initial appearance since the campaign’s first day and looked excellent.

Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, has long liked James. Given Bellingham’s remarkable impact since joining from Borussia Dortmund, the manager isn’t opposed to adding another English player to the team.
James has been the subject of reports throughout the past few seasons, and Los Blancos scouts have identified him as the ideal replacement for Dani Carvajal on the right side of defence.
James continues to pique Real Madrid’s curiosity, and as they weigh their alternatives this season, they will investigate him. It will not be easy to pry him away from Chelsea, though.
James, 23, was selected captain by Mauricio Pochettino in August, and he is focused on stringing together a string of matches as Chelsea attempts to turn around their season.
James has been with the club since he was six years old, thus his return was a significant event for him.
The England international is still fully committed to Chelsea. There’s no sign that he intends to depart, and the contract agreement is good until 2028.
Although Real Madrid may test the defender’s devotion after the season if Chelsea fails to revolve around their campaign, Chelsea values the defender greatly. These are undoubtedly challenging times at Stamford Bridge.
