France announce squad for upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023

France finished third in the last World Cup

France’s U-17 squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 in Indonesia has been announced. The 2001 edition champions are looking to win the title for the second time.

France finished third in the last edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. They are also the runners-up of the UEFA U-17 Euro Championship.

France are tied with Burkina Faso, South Korea and the United States in the group. They play against Burkina Faso in the first game on 12 November. Their next match is against South Korea before playing against the USA in the final group game.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 features 24 countries divided into six groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group, as well as the four best third-place teams, will advance to the Round of 16.

The tournament will be the 19th overall world championship for this age group. The first three were held as the FIFA U-16 World Championship before the competition was moved to the U-17 level for the 1991 event and the tournament assumed its current name in 2007.
