Germany are eyeing their first FIFA U-17 World Cup title

At the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Hungary on the first of June, Assan Ouedraogo’s spot kick in a thrilling penalty shootout versus France proved to be the game-winning penalty. Christian Wuck then led Germany to victory.

After five months, Wuck is now leading his nation’s U-15 team. However, he is going back to “his” U-17 team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023TM, and he is determined to make waves globally with most of the players who won the European Championship at his disposal.

Before his third U-17 World Cup as Germany’s head coach, 50-year-old Wuck spoke with FIFA about what he wanted for the current season, his recollections of past competitions, and much more.

For the upcoming few weeks, Barcelona Atletico will be missing another player as Noah Darvich leaves to represent Germany in the Under-17 World Cup.

Darvich has been added to the team for the Indonesian competition, which gets underway on Friday of next week.

The young player recently netted the inaugural goal for Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, but he is going to leave for international service.

Germany will take on Mexico, New Zealand, and Venezuela in the tournament’s division stages after being placed in Group F.

Darvich is travelling to the World Cup with his national teams, along with several young Barcelona players.
