Arsenal's Jurrien Timber 'likely to miss Euro 2024' due to ACL injury

Timber’s season is already over with ACL injury
According to sources from the Netherlands, Jurrien Timber will not compete in the European Championship in the summer of next year due to the ACL injury he picked up at the start of this season.
After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury 50 minutes into his Arsenal debut, the defender had surgery in August. It was believed that he would still be able to participate in the campaign’s closing stages.
Reports from the Netherlands, though, have raised questions about his prospects of playing this term.
Timber is not expected to be included in Ronald Koeman’s team for the European Championship in Germany the following summer, according to AD.
Fans of the Gunners were bracing themselves for the star’s arrival in the new year, but it looks like it might be a little later than expected.

The Netherlands qualified for the tournament in the summer by coming in second place in a qualification group that also featured France and a stronger Greece.
In October, Koeman’s team defeated the 2004 champions 1-0 in Athens, essentially securing their spot in the competition.
Timber’s performances with the four-time European Cup champions earned him a £40 million transfer to north London. The 22-year-old won the Eredivisie’s Player of the Season Award for the 2021–22 campaign and was a member of two Ajax teams that won titles.
In his stead, Mikel Arteta’s team has started the season strongly as they look to build on their second-place result from the previous year.
In the first few weeks of the season, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu have been the preferred left-back choices.
