Everton slap £60m asking price tag on Arsenal target Amadou Onana

Amadou Onana joined Everton in 2022
In January, Everton placed a £60 million asking price for Amadou Onana. The Toffees are reluctant to part with the midfield player this month as he is regarded as essential to Sean Dyche’s squad.
It is reported that Arsenal are considering a possible deal for him during the wintertime. But as Football Insider (17 December) reported, the Gunners have identified Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz as their top target for 2024. Nevertheless, they will have to wait until the summer because a January transfer is not feasible.
After Mikel Arteta’s outstanding performances under Unai Emery, his team is preparing to chase the Brazilian.
To entice Onana to leave Goodison Park, a potential buyer would have to make an almost club-record Everton bid.

Romelu Lukaku’s rumoured £75 million summer 2017 transfer to Manchester United is still the Toffees’ record sale, but Onana’s talents would require a comparable price to be paid.
Notwithstanding their early-season struggles and the blows they suffered from their historic 10-point deduction in November, Onana has been a standout player for Everton this season.
In every match this calendar year in any tournament, Dyche has started the Belgian international. With 21 games, he has shown promise as a defensive midfielder, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
After three straight losses, Everton is currently ranked 17th in the Premier League standings. On Sunday, January 14, they take on Aston Villa at Goodison Park.
Italy’s decision to eliminate tax breaks has caused Atalanta’s attempt to sign defender Ben Godfrey to fall through.
