Manchester United eye move for Gabriel Barbosa in January

Gabriel Barbosa has played for Inter Milan
According to reports, Manchester United are prepared to send Antony on loan to Flamengo in exchange for Gabriel Barbosa, whom they hope to sign in January.
After Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s offer for a quarter of the club is approved, United will be prepared to reorganise their offensive strategy.
After investing €75 million in Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, the Red Devils have had a terrible start to the campaign. Their highest three goal producers are both midfielders, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay.
Barbosa also referred to as “Gabigol,” is a seasoned player from Brazil who has been shortlisted. He might relieve Hojlund of some of the goal-scoring pressure, and United is eager to sign him so much that they will sweeten their agreement with Antony.
Based on FootballTransfers’ proprietary formula, Gabigol’s best valuation was €30.2m (£26.2m) two brief campaigns ago. If he can replicate his goal-scoring exploits in England, his £20m asking price might end up being a steal. This season, the striker has scored 20 goals in every match.

Though his eight goals and three assists in 55 appearances since joining from Ajax for €95 million in the summer of 2022 are not the kind of return the club was looking for from their second-highest costly signing ever, Antony has flattered to deceive during his tenure at Old Trafford.
“Manchester United want Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa in January and are willing to offer Antony in part exchange on loan,” reports The Mirror’s James Nursey.
“Barbosa, 27… is available at a discounted £20 million as his contract is up at the end of 2024. His club Flamengo are also interested in taking Barbosa’s Brazilian compatriot Anthony off United’s hands-on loan in part exchange for the forward…”
On Saturday, United defeated Fulham, an essential victory, but Antony was jeered as he left the pitch. It would be beneficial for all sides for him to return home, especially if it makes Gabigol’s arrival easier.
