Marcus Edwards is a former Tottenham player
Marcus Edwards, a former player for Tottenham, was involved in a car crash on his way to practise with the Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon.
After the collision, the 24-year-old winger is reportedly frightened but uninjured. The other car’s driver was unharmed as well.
Emergency responders who were dispatched to the scene included police, firefighters, and medics.
Local news accounts regarding the collision recognised Edwards’ vehicle as the overturned car seen at the site. It is reported to have occurred north of Lisbon, close to Atalaia.
It is believed that Sporting Lisbon’s practice has been slightly delayed. It was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. local time.
It’s understood that club executives visited the site of the crash to help Edwards. The football player hasn’t posted anything on social media as of yet.

Edwards, who was raised in England to a Greek Cypriot mother and an English father, was en route to his final club practice prior to their Europa League matchup with Atalaya of Italy. He attended Spurs’ academy before making his debut for the squad.
Edwards spent time on loan at Norwich and Excelsior before making a permanent move to Vitoria in 2019. After two and a half times of years, he signed with Sporting, where he has done exceptionally well.
Edwards scored a goal against Spurs in the Champions League the previous season, returning to haunt the team.
The winger, who played for England from U16 to U19 with around 50 caps, was recently linked to a return to the team.
According to reports earlier this month, there may be a £52 million release clause in his present deal. He is regarded as one of the top English players in overseas competitions.
