Marquinhos remains doubt for Newcastle clash in Champions League after picking up knock on international duty

Marquinhos suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty for Brazil
PSG captain Marquinhos is unlikely to feature in upcoming games against AS Monaco in Ligue 1 and Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League.
Marquinhos, who was captaining Brazil in the absence of Casemiro, suffered the injury during Tuesday night’s defeat against Argentina. Speaking to L’Equipe post-match, he revealed that he is unlikely to feature against Monaco in Ligue 1 on Friday night.
The PSG captain said that he underwent tests in the dressing room post-match, but still felt pain in the hamstring when he stretched it. “It will be difficult,” said the Brazilian.
Marquinhos added that he hopes to “be back as soon as possible”, however, it may be touch and go as to whether he will be fit enough to face Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. Should he miss the match, it would likely be Danilo Pereira who would play in his place.
