Xavi Simons suffered a shoulder ailment against Manchester City

The club has stated that Xavi Simons’ shoulder discomfort from RB Leipzig’s 3-2 Champions League loss to Manchester City is not as serious as initially thought.

The midfield player had an MRI following Tuesday night’s match. Subsequently, doctors confirmed that they had not discovered any significant structural damage. Huge relief for everyone connected to the Saxon club. Although the timing of Simons’ return to the starting lineup is unknown, it should be soon rather than after a lengthier layoff.

While Simons is working towards replacing a portion of Christopher Nkunku’s production at Leipzig this season, he is quickly winning over Leipzig’s supporters. In 12 Bundesliga games this season, the 20-year-old has four goals and seven assists.

Leipzig hopes to return to a winning record in the Bundesliga this Saturday when they play FC Hidenheim.

Speaking after the game, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose gave an update on the 20-year-old youngster.

“He had a little problem with his circulation, which indicates that something is not quite right. But the doctor was able to give him a little reassurance,” Rose said at the post-match press conference.

“It doesn’t look like there’s anything broken. Hopefully it is not that serious. He was feeling a little better in the locker room. But we will have to examine him tomorrow,” Rose said.

There were concerns that the child might have sustained significant harm at the Etihad.

However, the German team soothed supporters’ concerns by announcing that the Netherlands international has received the all-clear following an MRI scan on Wednesday night.

Simons will return “soon,” according to Leipzig, but it doesn’t seem probable that the PSG loanee will be ready for their match against Heidenheim on Saturday.
