Whether it was the domestic players or the foreigners, they made the best of the situation and performed remarkably to help their respective teams produce a positive result.

There were 21 goals from six matches in Round 8 of the 2023-24 Indian Super League. It is safe to say that some teams are finally playing with flair and rhythm resulting in a lot of goals.

As another week of ISL fixtures gave the fans plenty of moments to rejoice, here is a look at the Team of the Week 8 that consists of players who took their breath away:

Formation: 4-3-3

GK – Amrinder Singh (Odisha FC)

Amrinder Singh was calm and composed between the sticks for Odisha FC. The custodian made three saves and helped the club keep a clean sheet. Thanks to his calmness in goal, Odisha FC won by a 1-0 score line against Jamshedpur FC away from home.

RB – Asish Rai (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

Asish Rai worked extremely hard for Mohun Bagan Super Giant against his former club Hyderabad FC. The full-back contributed in both attack and defence. He scored the second goal for the Mariners from long-range to put the result beyond doubt.

Sandesh Jhingan has been a man on a mission since the start of the season. The centre-back delivered another fabulous performance in defense for FC Goa, helping them keep a clean sheet against his former club, Kerala Blasters FC. He made seven clearances during the game.

CB – Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

Subhasish Bose was key for Mohun Bagan in keeping Hyderabad FC attackers at bay. Due to his performance in a three-man defence, the Mariners recorded a 2-0 win over the Nizams. Subhasish Bose made three clearances and blocked two shots.

LB – Jay Gupta (FC Goa)

Jay Gupta is having a breakthrough season in the ISL this season. The left-back helped FC Goa secure a 1-0 win over Kerala Blasters FC in a high-octane contest. He made three tackles and won seven ground duels to keep the Yellow Army players frustrated.
