Villa are without plenty of first-team players

Originally hired as an early reserve to skipper and Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings, Torres has quickly assumed leadership but hasn’t appeared back since the Englishman’s serious injury sustained in their 5-1 loss to Newcastle United.

Prior to Friday’s Premier League matchup against Sheffield United, midfielder Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa appears to have leaked some team information, revealing that fellow player Pau Torres is out.

Pau was expected to be cleared for play after limping off late in the 2-1 victory against Brentford, but it appears that’s no longer the case. Pau used to be merely an injury concern.

When the Villans meet the fading Blades at Villa Park on Friday, December 22, they might find themselves atop the Premier League standings by then.

Emery, however, is going to have a fresh headache for the match since Pau Torres, who was injured during Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Brentford, verified it immediately after the game.

Furthermore, with Torres’ condition at 50%, which means he may miss Friday’s game, Premier League injury analyst Ben Dinnery stated on his Premier Injuries X account on December 18 that there is no set timeline for Torres to get back to action.

News about the team before Friday’s match versus Sheffield United. Unai Emery revealed, “Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendía are out, Bertrand Traoré is out.” “Youri Tielemans is out; tomorrow, Pau Torres will also be out; Boubacar Kamara has been given a red card and is suspended.” The other participants are prepared. They are going to be accessible, having trained this morning.

If Luiz is correct, Pau will be greatly missed as he hasn’t skipped an entire league game this season and has played for a mere 31 minutes on the pitch. Ezri Konsa going from right-back to centre-back and Matty Cash shifting from the right flank to the full-back position would probably affect the team’s decision.
