Who are the best Bryan Mbeumo replacements in FPL?
The attacker is out for multiple weeks due to a serious injury.
Premier League outfit Brentford FC suffered a huge blow by losing their top goalscorer Bryan Mbeumo due to injury for “multiple weeks” during a recent 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. Regarding his situation, Brentford head coach Thomas Frank suggested that his injury is “bad” and will keep him out of action for a considerable period.
Bryan Mbeumo’s injury also affects the Fantasy Premier League squads where he enjoyed a huge ownership. The attacking winger amassed 87 points after scoring seven goals and providing four assists. He proved to be a brilliant differential and enjoyed a fruitful time in attack for Brentford in the absence of Ivan Toney who continues to serve his suspension due to involvement in a betting scandal.
With Bryan Mbeumo’s long-term injury, FPL managers must find a replacement who costs around the same as the Brentford forward and delivers crucial points in the highly competitive fantasy league. With that thought in mind, here are five players that one can consider as replacements:
Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United) – £4.7m
Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United has made the left wing position his own and pushed Marcus Rashford out of the starting lineup with his recent impressive performances. The winger scored a magnificent bicycle kick goal against Everton and provided the assist for Scott McTominay’s winning goal against Chelsea.
There are few starters in a price range of £4.7m in the FPL. Acquiring him can allow more money to be reserved for other positions.
Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United) – £6.1m
Anthony Gordon has been superb for Newcastle United this season. He has already collected 81 points and looks threatening in every attack. The 22-year-old has scored six goals and provided five assists for the Magpies from 14 appearances.
At £6.1m, he comes cheaper than Mbuemo. Around 20.7% of the teams already own him in the FPL and he can be a brilliant replacement for the Brentford forward until the latter is injured.

Hwang Hee-chan (Wolves) – £5.7m
Hwang Hee-chan is the ideal FPL midfielder because of his price and he often plays as an attacking winger. He has scored eight goals for the side and is the top scorer for them in the Premier League for now. At £5.7m, he is incredibly light on the pocket.
Wolves rely on Hwang Hee-chan for goals and his positioning allows him to record plenty of goal contributions. Furthermore, his form is good at the moment as the South Korean collected 10 points after scoring the winning goal for Wolves in a 1-0 win against Burnley.
Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton & Hove Albion) – £6.5m
Kaoru Mitoma has recovered from an injury and immediately made an impact for Brighton & Hove Albion. The winger provided the assist for Pascal Gross against Brentford and helped the side win the game by a 2-1 score.
The Japanese international is priced less than Mbuemo (£7.1m) at £6.5m and possesses a lot of potential for goal involvement. He has five assists and three goals for the Seagulls. Therefore, the FPL managers can look towards him for a cheap option to replace Mbuemo.
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United) – £7.6m
Jarrod Bowen is a brilliant differential in Fantasy Premier League as most managers overlook him for players such as Mohamed Salah, Jeremy Doku, etc. However, with 84 points, Bowen is proving to be a brilliant FPL asset this year.
He has scored nine goals for the Hammers and made one assist. While he is priced slightly higher than Bryan Mbuemo, Bowen can be an ideal replacement for the injured Brentford attacker considering his score of 111.9 (seventh best in the PL) in the ICT (influence, creativity and threat) index.
