Lautaro Martinez set to sign new deal with Inter Milan

Lautaro Martinez was sought by many Premier League clubs

Following attention from Premier League teams Chelsea and Manchester United, Lautaro Martinez is prepared to sign a new deal at Inter, as per 90 Min.

The Inter Milan captain’s previous contract at San Siro will run out in 2026. In the past 18 months, his legal team have discussed the prospect of moving from Italy to England with Chelsea and United.

The two Premier League teams and the player’s longtime supporters Real Madrid were said to have expressed interest in the gifted forward back in June.

Despite this, Inter Milan managed to keep their star player throughout the transfer window, and they have since expressed a strong desire to sign the forward to a long-term contract with the team, preferably before the summer of 2024.

Lautaro Martinez is now prepared to negotiate a contract contract with I Nerazzurri, according to 90min, after having the finest start to a career in the 2023–24 season.

This season, the Argentine has been in incredible form for Inter, scoring 13 goals in 13 Serie A games, including a pivotal level in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia tie at the Allianz Stadium against fierce rivals Juventus. Inter has surged to the apex of the Serie A table thanks to the captain’s shenanigans.

Martinez has stated that he wants to stay at San Siro “for a long time,” according to Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, who recently spoke to the media about the status of contract negotiations.

“Lautaro has stated on several occasions that he wants to be here for a long time. He’s a player we want to be at the centre of our project for both the present and the future,” he said.

“We’re certain that when the will on both sides is to continue on together, then it becomes very simple.”
