Newcastle linked with summer 2024 move for Jose Mourinho: Rumours
Jose Mourinho is also wanted by Saudi clubs
Jose Mourinho, the head coach of Roma, is being watched by Newcastle United because his contract is about to expire.
Mourinho has started negotiations with the club’s management since his contract with the Giallorossi expires in June. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Italian powerhouses want to hold onto the Portuguese tactician, who additionally won among his supporters.
The Roma supporters adore the former Chelsea manager so much that they went so far as to display a banner at Olimpico on Sunday during the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, referring to him as a “Romanista for life”.
While the club executives are more interested in a one-year renewal, the former Manchester United manager is seeking a second two-year contract in Rome.
However, Roma management is prepared to give Mourinho €7.5 million (£6.4 million) a season. But the former Tottenham manager isn’t ruling out a return to the Premier League.

That’s because Newcastle is “looming” with curiosity in the 60-year-old, and club executives are “fascinated” by him.
But as of right now, there’s no sign that Eddie Howe, the boss of Toons, is in danger of losing his job.
Furthermore, it doesn’t appear that many Magpies supporters are in favour of Mourinho taking Howe’s place. “We have great team morale at Newcastle at the moment,” tweeted a Newcastle supporter.
With Carlo Ancelotti’s contract expiring in June, Real Madrid is also considering luring Mourinho again to the Santiago Bernabeu.
