Takehiro Tomiyasu out with calf injury for 4-6 weeks, confirms Arteta

Arsenal secured a 4-3 dramatic win over Luton Town yesterday
Takehiro Tomiyasu will likely miss some time due to injury, according to Mikel Arteta, which is a serious setback for Arsenal.
The full-back, who has been playing well lately, had a calf injury last weekend against Wolves, which kept him out of the Gunners’ thrilling victory over Luton.
In the last moments of the Wolves game at the Emirates Stadium, Tomiyasu hobbled out after once again being selected to start at right-back instead of Ben White.
“We had a scan and it’s not good news,” the Arsenal boss said. He’s got an injury in his calf and he’s going to be out for a while.”

“I don’t know. He felt something. I don’t know if it was fatigue. We decided to change straight away and we didn’t want to take any risks. Let’s assess him and see how he is,” he revealed on Saturday.
On Monday afternoon, when questioned regarding Tomiyasu, he said: “We assessed him after the game. We took him out for precaution. We will wait. Whether it’s useful to use him we’ll decided tomorrow.”
Although Tomiyasu had been left out of making the journey to Kenilworth Road, Arteta referred to it as a “precaution”. Speaking following his team’s triumph, the Arsenal manager gave a dejected response when questioned about the defender’s condition.
Due to his anterior cruciate ligament damage sustained during his Premier League debut in August, Jurrien Timber is still sidelined for the foreseeable future, leaving Arsenal without a full-back alternative as they approach the often hectic holiday season.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and White are probably the best combinations, with Cedric emerging as the most likely backup on the opposite side of the defence and Jakub Kiwior ready to step in at left-back if needed.
