We have to see how Erling Haaland is day by day: Pep Guardiola
Erling Haaland was absent from the 2-1 win over Luton Town
Following the much-needed victory of Manchester City over Luton Town on December 10, Pep Guardiola gave an update regarding Erling Haaland’s injury status.
The great forward has been a vital component of City’s offensive lineup, but a foot ailment kept him out of the pivotal game. But Guardiola quickly played down the seriousness of the situation, allaying concerns over a protracted absence.
Pep Guardiola on Haaland injury: “The day after Villa, he could almost not walk properly”.
“On Saturday then I spoke to him, he was saying: I feel much better, I can walk, I have no pain. That’s why we have to see how he is day by day”.
So far in the Premier League season for Manchester City, Erling Haaland has been a constant presence. In 22 appearances in all competitions, he has 19 goals and five assists.
He did not, however, appear to play a significant role in what proved to be the club’s first victory following a string of poor outcomes.

In the Premier League on Sunday, Manchester City overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Luton Town 2-1. This victory is City’s first in the league following three ties and one loss. For the holders, who are now fourth in the rankings and four points behind leaders Liverpool, it’s a crucial lift.
Luton Town, struggling to avoid relegation, took the lead at a lively Kenilworth Road. Just before the halftime siren, Elijah Adebayo’s header off an Andros Townsend pass delighted the home crowd. Nevertheless, the constant City pressure in the second half proved too much for this early lead to hold.
Thanks to Bernardo Silva, Manchester City’s fortunes changed in the sixty-second minute. His superb curler from left foot reached the far corner, leaving Thomas Kaminski, the custodian for Luton, gasping for air.
That was not the end of the revival. In just three minutes, Jack Grealish scored his 50th goal of the season in spectacular fashion.
