Kylian Mbappe will have a big decision to make next summer

Kylian Mbappe might decide his legacy, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are seeking to entice him with two important considerations to lock him down to another long-term deal.

According to Football Espana sources (via Diario AS), the Parisians are reportedly aiming to move quickly to stave off attention from Real Madrid and Liverpool.

After December, Mbappe will be starting the last six months of his current deal, which means he may start talking to other clubs about moving on January 1. Following this, PSG is hopeful that two inducements will convince the Frenchman to continue with the Parisians past 2024.

First off, PSG have promised not to obstruct Kylian Mbappe’s path should he choose to compete in the Summer Olympics in Paris. Even though there are only three players over 23 who are permitted, it would seem sense to include him.

Given that a player of Mbappe’s calibre would desire to win an Olympic gold medal for France in his native city of Paris, his participation seems quite likely.

The second reason is that, with 179 goals in Ligue 1, Kylian Mbappe stands 120 goals short of Delio Onnis’s document, which was set in the 1970s and 1980s while he was a player for Reims, Monaco, Tours, and Toulon.

At just twenty-four, this is a goal the striker, at his present striking rate, might accomplish in the next four or five campaigns.

Mbappe’s desire to be a member of the team that brings PSG their first-ever Champions League victory is another important consideration. The only French team that have ever won the prestigious “Big Ears” is Marseille.

It is safe to state that in order to convince Kylian Mbappe to prolong his contract, the board will need to exert extreme pressure.

After progressing via the amateur levels as AS Bondy and then AS Monaco, Kylian Mbappe spent a year in 2015–16 starring for the latter’s ‘B’ squad.
