Zlatan Ibrahimovic retired from football last season

Today marks Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s homecoming to AC Milan, ending weeks of speculation about his potential role and comeback.

The official declaration of Ibrahimovic’s comeback as a close partner of Gerry Cardinale is expected to occur today, as revealed by MilanNews and Fabrizio Romano. The role is quite ambiguous, with specific duties having to be determined.

How is Ibra going to respond? What will he have to cope with every day? What sort of relationships will he have with the squad and coach? All inquiries, particularly the final one, will receive a response within the next several hours.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made the vital decision to return for a third period, but this time as a spectator rather than a participant. The official press release is expected in the afternoon and should offer several answers.

He first joined AC Milan in the summer of 2010 after Adriano Galliani acquired him on a temporary loan from Barcelona. In December 2019, at the age of 38, he returned to help a struggling team and was an integral component of an improving path.

Some contend that Ibra’s comeback served as the cornerstone for the Rossoneri’s recent triumphs, which include a Scudetto, a Champions League semifinal, an excursion to Europe, and a Champions League.

Though it’s unclear what role he’ll play when he returns to Milan, it’s widely assumed that he won’t be content to just serve as a brand ambassador.

The team is reluctant to offer Ibra a directing position, particularly in light of the dismissal of Milan great Paolo Maldini and his right-hand man Frederic Massara.
