Jose Mourinho sacked by AS Roma following AC Milan defeat in Serie A

Mourinho led Roma to Conference trophy and were runners-up in Europa League
The official press note confirms that Jose Mourinho and AS Roma split ways immediately. The cause is still unknown despite Mourinho’s earlier declaration that the Portuguese manager will complete the Roma contract.
But given the club’s recent struggles—they have been losing games under his leadership and are currently ninth in Serie A—an unexpected departure from Roma may only be the result.
Nonetheless, there was a lot of excitement surrounding Mourinho’s appointment to the Serie A team. The manager succeeded in his first season, taking the team to the UEFA Conference League and the UEFA Europa League the next season, but the Italian team lost to Sevilla on penalties.
What stood out, though, was the hate that Mourinho’s players endured from their own supporters following the match, which saw the hosts triumph 3-1.

Roma’s players encountered open hostility and a challenge to demonstrate their testicular fortitude as they attempted to show respect for the 4,000-strong travelling supporters. After the game, striker Andrea Belotti said, “We’ve hit rock bottom.”
Jose Mourinho was not present for this harsh reaction because he was once again barred from sitting on the bench due to his most recent punishment for yelling at referees, forcing him to watch from the stands. He did not, however, avoid criticism.

Indeed, for the first time when his assumption of command of Roma in 2021, certain fans have begun to criticise Mourinho’s approach.
Giallorossi clung to every word that Mourinho said, considering him to be their messiah. They reacted similarly to his verbal abuse of the officials.
Although there were some dissident voices, like former Roma forward Antonio Cassano, and reservations about the play style (or lack thereof), they were overshadowed for a very long time by Roma’s new cult hero and his devoted supporters.
Some ardent supporters, meanwhile, have already changed their minds after it became evident early in the campaign that something was wrong at Roma, who stand to lose to Manchester United for the third year running.
