Senegal are the most decorated nation in Africa

Preparing for their defending of the Africa Cup of Nations championship, the Senegalese national squad has arrived in Ivory Coast in fine form. The group landed in Abidjan before dawn Wednesday morning and was led by Sadio Mane, the Al-Nassr star and recent husband.

The AFCON champions will head straight to Yamoussoukro, from where they will have a base for every game in Group C. The participants and the coaches were seen exiting the aircraft in a social media video wearing identical all-white African attire.

The team visited President Macky Sall on Tuesday night before departing Dakar, and he tasked them with defending the AFCON title they had captured two years prior.

Senegal concluded its training with a friendly match against Niger, having spent the previous two weeks camped up in Dakar. Thanks to a goal late in the game by Formose Mendy, they triumphed 1-0.

According to Sky Sports, the Teranga Lions are scheduled to play their first AFCON match on January 15 against The Gambia, their neighbours in West Africa, before playing Cameroon and Guinea.

According to reports, Mane wed longtime companion Aisha Tamba on January 7 in a beautiful ceremony in Dakar.

It was said that friends, family, and present and past Senegalese national team players joined the lovely celebration.
