Zinedine Zidane hasn’t managed a club since leaving Madrid in 2021

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is determined to bring Zinedine Zidane to Manchester United in place of Erik ten Hag. That’s what Foot Mercato in France says. What is the current state of affairs between Manchester United and Zinedine Zidane?

Foot Mercato claims that the CEO of INEOS is interested in selecting the renowned Frenchman and that Ten Hag will not be staying at Old Trafford.

After leaving Real Madrid in 2021 and coming back for a second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, Zidane has been jobless since. History was made during the 51-year-old’s first stint at Real Madrid.

After replacing Rafael Benitez as manager in 2016, Zidane won three straight UEFA Champions League championships, becoming the first and only manager in history to successfully defend the European Cup.

The Marseille man then left in 2018, but he later made a two-year comeback in 2019.

Zidane has managed 301 games and orchestrated 190 victories overall. Ratcliffe, according to Foot Mercato, has reportedly already discussed internally with Ten Hag about taking over as the three-time UEFA Champions League champion.

The 71-year-old is interested in removing 11 players from Manchester United, according to the French news source, in an effort to make the Red Devils competitive once more.

Zidane isn’t free to sign with Manchester United even though he’s unemployed right now.

Foot Mercato also adds that since Thomas Tuchel is leaving the Allianz Arena this summer, Bayern Munich may decide to bring in the Frenchman, who Eden Hazard believes would thrive at Old Trafford.

As a result, Manchester United will not have an easy time replacing Ten Hag with the legendary Zizou.
