AFC Asian Champions League 2 aims to enhance the visibility and standard of Asian football
The 2024–25 season marks a significant transition in Asian club football with the inauguration of the AFC Asian Champions League Two (ACL Two), evolving from its predecessor, the AFC Cup.
This is the 21st edition of Asia’s second-tier club football tournament, now rebranded and restructured to provide a more competitive and inclusive platform for clubs across the continent.
Organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the ACL 2 aims to enhance the visibility and standard of Asian football by offering a prestigious tournament for clubs that may not qualify for the top-tier AFC Champions League Elite.
The revamped tournament will feature 32 teams in the group stage, equally divided between the West and East regions, ensuring a balanced and competitive environment.

The slot allocation for the 2024–25 ACL Two is based on the AFC’s club competitions ranking, published after the completion of the 2022 competitions. This ranking determines the distribution of group stage and play-off slots among the member associations.
However, it is important to note that the following allocation is provisional. The final number of slots will be confirmed by the AFC based on the criteria outlined in the ACL Two Entry Manual.
