East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Jamshedpur FC, and Northeast United FC have won the race to the knockouts.
Four major ISL clubs have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the Durand Cup 2025, asserting their superiority in the tournament. Kolkata clubs, East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant, continued their dominance in the Durand Cup, making it to the knockouts once again. Joining them in the knockouts are Jamshedpur FC and Northeast United FC from Group C and E, respectively.
The fiercely contested battle to claim a spot in the quarter-finals is not over yet, with four more places up for grabs. In the next couple of days, the lineup for the knockouts will be sealed as the group stage approaches its end.
The Kolkata kingdom remains unassailable
The Durand Cup and its history are intertwined with the legacy of clubs from Kolkata. Historically, the competition has been dominated by clubs from the city of joy, and the tradition seems to continue. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan have once again proved their mettle and earned a quarter-final spot.
The two traditional powerhouses have been impressive so far in the group stage, putting any challenge aside to stay unbeaten on their path to glory once again.

East Bengal FC became the first one to put a stamp on the knockout qualification with their narrow 1-0 victory against Namdhari FC on Wednesday. With new signings on board, the Red and Gold brigade are trying to perfect their team combination as Oscar Bruzon aim to build something special this season.
This domestic season will be crucial for the club as the management has invested a lot, with fans also putting their emotional investment as their wait for the league title continues. Durand Cup glory would be the perfect way to set the tone for the season.

On the other hand, Mohun Bagan Super Giant have made scoring goals in abundance their habit in this year’s Durand Cup. Their goalscoring streak appears to be unstoppable. The Mariners opened their campaign in the Mini Derby against Mohammedan SC with three goals on the scoresheet.
This impressive performance was followed by another bullish one as they thwarted BSF FT’s plans of putting up a fight. Scoring four against BSF, the Mariners continued the momentum that saw them smash another five in their last group stage encounter against Diamond Harbour FC. Opponents will be wary of coming up against this in-form juggernaut in the knockouts.

Jamshedpur and Northeast United sail through

Khalid Jamil-led Jamshedpur FC are building on the impressive last season with a rollicking start to their journey in the Durand Cup 2025. With an impeccable 9 points in three games, the Red Miners have given their fans at the Furnace value for the money.
However, Jamshedpur have had to battle hard for these three wins on the trot. They had to dig deep against Tribhuvan Army FC in their opener and Indian Army FT. But the huge positive that Khalid Jamil would focus on is the indomitable spirit that his young team has shown.

Serving saucy treats to fans in Shillong, Northeast United FC have been at the top of their game. The defending champions are in no mood to concede the title. Looking at their performances in the group stage, it will be a tough task for any club to challenge their hegemony in the knockouts.
Alaaeddine Ajaraie is in fine form, and when he is on a roll, it is almost certain that NEUFC bulldozes any challenge that comes their way. Fans would hope their star striker continues to produce bangers, consolidating their bid to lift the trophy once again.
