Gokulam Kerala win two awards in Global Soccer Conclave for women's football

The Malabarians bagged two IWL titles and two AFC Women's Club Championship qualifications since 2020.
Gokulam Kerala FC bags two awards for development of women’s football in India in the third edition of Global Soccer Conclave.
- Most consistent women’s football team – Gokulam Kerala FC.
- Best Indian Coach ( Women’s football) – Anthony Andrews
Dr B Ashok Kumar, CEO of Gokulam Kerala FC, received the award for the “Most consistent women’s football team” in the third edition of Global Soccer Conclave held in Mumbai from 2nd September 4th September, 2022.
The CEO received the award from the newly appointed AIFF General Secretary Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran during the conclave. The club received the award after being the champion club of Kerala and India (2020 &2021) and also representing the AFC Women’s Club Competition twice.
“It is a huge honour for us to receive this award. This award particularly recognizes our work and it gives an amazing feeling of getting awarded for our efforts to spearhead the development of women’s football in India. GKFC will continue to raise the bar further to reach new heights,” said Dr. B. Ashok Kumar, CEO of Gokulam Kerala FC.
Anthony Andrews, who was the previous head coach of GKFC women’s team was awarded the “Best Indian Coach (Women’s Football)” for his performance in the season 2021-22. Anthony won the Kerala Women’s League and the Indian Women’s League last season with Gokulam Kerala FC. He is currently serving as the Assistant Coach to Richard Towa, the current head coach of the GKFC men’s team. Anthony received the award from Dr. Amol Patil, Executive Director of Global Soccer Conclave.
“This is a collective reward for all my players and the club staffs. I’m grateful for this award and for the opportunity that was provided by the club to lead the women’s team last season. I am happy that the efforts of the club to develop women’s football are being recognized,” said Anthony Andrews.
“Our focus has always been finding ways to improve and stand out from the crowd with the women’s team. The club has been working relentlessly to achieve that and happy to see that it is being recognized deserving. I thank the Global Soccer Enclave committee for the awards given to the club,” said VC Praveen, the president of Gokulam Kerala FC.
