The Black Panthers will become the third club from Kolkata to compete in ISL 2024-25.

Mohammedan SC won the I-League 2023-24 with a slender lead, gaining promotion to the Indian Super League(ISL) 2024-25. The side will finally join its crosstown rivals East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Super Giant as the Big Three of Maidaan participate for the first time in the ISL.

Despite their positive season, the Black Panthers will be gutted at the departure of star striker Eddie Hernandez who was their top scorer for the season. However, they have made certain reinforcements to some of their departments as they aim for a respectable finish in the ISL.

Another import joined star foreigners Joseph Adjei and Alexis Gomez while the club brought in three Indian recruits. Now let us have a look at all transfers completed by Mohammedan SC so far in the 2024-2025 summer window:

Incomings

Cesar Lobi Manzoki

The Central African Republic international is a high-profile signing for Mohammedan who boasts sizeable experience in the UAE Pro League and the Chinese Super League. Manzoki is a strong, tall striker who can wiggle out of trouble despite his towering frame. The centre-forward will be a good fit for the side in a league like the ISL that demands both physicality and technical dexterity.

Mohammed Kadiri

Yet another flexible defensive linchpin, Kadiri can switch between roles in central defense and defensive midfield. The Ghanaian midfielder has had an impressive CV, featuring for Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv most recently, and will be a valuable asset for the Black Panthers in the ISL.

França

The Brazilian was brought onboard by Mohammedan sometime back and will be supporting Alexis Gomez and Cesar Manzoki upfront. Franca boasts experience playing in the Brazilian leagues, and the winger can be relied on to produce moments of Joga Bonito and dazzle the Black Panthers’ fans.

Makan Winkle Chothe

Former FC Goa winger has always been on the fringes and was at risk of not being able to play in the ISL, especially with his former club, Hyderabad FC, underperforming alarmingly. However, Mohammedan were quick to negotiate with the pacy wing wizard and pen his services for the upcoming season.

Amarjit Singh Kiyam

Another former Gaur who joined the Black Panthers’ ranks was Amarjit Singh. With the ISL debutants, Amarjit will be hoping to finally fulfill his potential as he would be expected to start more often for them in the league.

Soraisam Robinson Singh

At only 21 years of age, Soraisam Robinson played a good 19 games in I-League 2023-24 for TRAU FC and showed promise. The Manipuri striker had an outstanding tally of four goals and three assists earning him a move to the Black Panthers in the ISL this season.

Tanva Ragui

Ragui is another talented midfielder who at the tender age of 20 has already amassed 52 professional appearances in the I-League, I-League 2, Super Cup Qualifiers, and the Durand Cup

Sajal Bag

The 21-year-old versatile midfielder from Kolkata has had experience playing in the ISL formerly with Chennaiyin FC and in the I-League with NEROCA.

Outgoings

Eddie Hernandez

The Honduras target-man ended the I-League 2023-24 season as champions with Mohammedan SC and as their highest goalscorer (six goals). Naturally, fans will be sad to see the prolific forward depart right at the onset of their ISL journey.

Evgeniy Kozlov

Right winger Kozlov played a part in the Black Panthers’ league-winning season. Although he scored and assisted once, the Russian was a key player before returning to Kazakhstan’s Premier Liga.

David Lalhlansanga

The Manipuri centre-forward was Mohammedan’s brightest youth prospect last season with 11 goals and three assists for them in 25 appearances across the league and Durand Cup. Lalhlansanga has already enjoyed a dream start to life at his new club East Bengal, after scoring once in the ongoing Durand Cup.

James Kithan

James Kithan made no appearances in the Mohammedan goal last season and his contract was not renewed for ISL 2024-25.

Laishram Bedashwor Singh

The left winger also played no part in the Black Panthers’ title-winning run and was considered excess to their requirements.

Karandeep

The left-back did feature twice for Mohammedan in I-League 2023-24 but is currently a free agent after leaving the club.
