Some of the biggest wins for Chennaiyin FC have come under their current manager Owen Coyle
Indian Super League (ISL) side Chennaiyin FC are one of the most popular clubs in Indian football. The Southern Giants won the ISL Cup twice under Marco Materrazi and John Gregory. However, they have been on the hunt for a trophy since 2018.
Though the trophy drought has lasted longer than their supporters would have wanted, the Marina Machans are still a dominant force on their day. Here are the five biggest wins Chennaiyin FC have secured over the years in terms of scoreline:
5) Jamshedpur FC 1-5 Chennaiyin FC – ISL 2024-25
On 4th November 2024, Owen Coyle’s Chennaiyin FC traveled to the JRD Tata Sports Complex to face a daunting Jamshedpur FC side. Khalid Jamil’s team had won all three 2024-25 ISL games at home before their encounter against Chennaiyin FC.
The Marina Machans opened their account in the 6th minute through a Pratik Chaudhary own goal. The floodgates soon opened as Irfan Yadwad, Connor Shields, Wilmar Jordan, and Lucas Brambilla got on the scoresheet. CFC had a total of 10 shots on target and won the game 5-1, embarrassing Jamshedpur FC at their home.
4) Chennaiyin FC 5-1 Punjab FC – ISL 2023-24
After a slow start to their 2023-24 ISL campaign, Chennaiyin FC welcomed newcomers Punjab FC to the Marina Arena seeking their first home win of the season. Owen Coyle’s side had scored just twice in four games before facing Punjab, however, the floodgates opened on 29th October 2023.
Captain Ryan Edwards, Connor Shields, and Rafael Crivellaro scored in the first half to give CFC a comfortable lead at the break. Shields scored a second and Vincy Baretto got on the scoresheet as well in the second half as Chennaiyin FC beat Punjab FC 5-1 at home.

1) NorthEast United 3-7 Chennaiyin FC – ISL 2022-23
NorthEast United were not at their best in the 2022-23 ISL season. However, no one had imagined the events that would take place on 10th December 2022 as Nasser El Khayati put on a 10/10 display for Thomas Bradaric’s side.
Khayati scored a hattrick and assisted two goals as Chennaiyin FC registered a 7-3 win over the Highlanders. Petar Silskovic scored a brace on the night Julius Duker also scored a goal.
