Jamshedpur FC stole the limelight at the Furnace.

Jamshedpur FC delivered a thrilling performance at the Furnace, overcoming East Bengal in their fourth Indian Super League (ISL) match of the season. After impressive victories against Mumbai City FC and FC Goa, followed by a narrow defeat to Odisha FC, the Red Miners made a swift and decisive comeback.

Rei Tachikawa’s crucial goal secured an early lead, earning Jamshedpur all three points against a formidable East Bengal side. Jamshedpur’s defense showcased immense resilience, holding firm despite relentless pressure from East Bengal’s aggressive attack.

This victory marks Jamshedpur FC’s second win at home this season, maintaining their 100% win record at the Furnace. Their defensive stability and ability to bounce back quickly highlight the team’s determination and character, as they continue to impress in this season’s ISL.

Here’s a look at the player ratings of both teams.

Jamshedpur FC (by Saikat Sengupta)

Albino Gomes (7.5)

Albino seemed determined to register his first clean sheet of the season against East Bengal. Despite 10 shots and 3 of them being on target in the first half, Albino ensured that East Bengal’s scoreline remained nill. Saving a penalty is never an easy task, but Albino mastered the art of saving penalties.

Ashutosh Mehta (6.0)

Ashutosh looked a bit off-color tonight despite a satisfactory performance. His first two games for JFC saw him rising through the ranks of JFC defence and slowly taking control over the right side of the pitch. His overlapping runs from the right flank were a major boost for the right wingers.

Pratik Chaudhari (7.5)

Pratik, who recently turned a year older remains the guardian of JFC defence. His impactful clearances, interceptions and blocks saw JFC’s defence becoming impenetrable.

Md. Uvais (7.5)

Uvais continues to impress with his performance in the left flank of the pitch. His overlapping runs, especially during counterattacks were difficult to read and decipher by the East Bengal defence. He continues to remain Khalid’s most trusted left back in the squad.

Sourav Das (7.5)

There were a lot of questions asked before the match if Sourav should be replaced by Mobashir in the starting line-up. However, after a not-so-impressive last game, Sourav bounced back in fashion. He was dominating the central midfield position vehemently.

Imran Khan (8.5)

No wonder, why Imran Khan deserves to get regular calls to the national team setup. He is unarguably one of the best Indian players of the match. This is not the first time, that Imran’s pinpoint accurate crosses have bolstered the team’s attacking prowess.

Md. Sanan (8.0)

Sanan’s performance tonight was a glimpse of why he should start for JFC in every single game. He has been the heartbeat of the team’s attacking core. He has been in sublime form for the Red Miners ever since the Durand Cup.

Substitutes

Seminlen Doungel (7.0)

Len’s inception into the pitch saw a new rejuvenation and an attacking flair. Despite being benched, he came with an immediate impact in the last twenty minutes. The constant attacking threats saw East Bengal concede an own goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Aniket Jadhav (NA)

Aniket was brought in the last few minutes of the game to replace the tired legs of Imran Khan, who has a brilliant game tonight.

Mobashir Rahman (NA)

Mobashir probably was expecting a call to the playing eleven. However, Sourav was equally brilliant tonight. The local boy got less match time tonight.

East Bengal (by Uttiyo Sarkar)

Debjit Majumder – 6.5

Majumder couldn’t do much for either goal but made a string of combative saves to stop his side from getting embarrassed.

Provat Lakra – 7.0

Lakra was quite solid in his ISL debut for East Bengal. Proactive and alert in the wide areas, frustrating Imran Khan. Made three tackles, won four duels and made five possession recoveries too.

Anwar Ali – 5.5

Couldn’t dominate the Jamshedpur FC frontline or neutralize their attacks properly. Moved the ball along nicely and made three clearances, but was caught in a bad position for the second goal.

Lalchungnunga – 4.0

Nunga never looked comfortable being played out of position as a right-back. Had trouble against Jamshedpur’s attacks through his side, not winning a single duel. Scored a comical own goal to cap off a disappointing outing.

Sauvik Chakrabarti – 4.5

Too passive with his work in midfield, not taking risks with presses and being too safe with his passes. Made only one tackle and won 1/4 duels.

Naorem Mahesh Singh – 5.0

Another under-par display from Singh. Did better creatively than in recent games, setting up a few decent chances that were squandered. But he still lacked that cutting-edge to his game, looking sluggish at times and taking off before the hour-mark.

Nandhakumar Sekar – 6.0

Nandha showcased an impressive work-rate again, running his socks off throughout the game and making eight possession recoveries. Created a few nice chances with his delivery, but his shooting was underwhelming again.

Substitutes

PV Vishnu – 6.0

Vishnu made a few nice runs into the final third, but his final product was just not there.

David Lalhlansanga – N/R

Failed to add any goal-scoring spark in his short cameo.

Aman CK – N/R

Unable to do much in the final bits of the game.
