ISL 11 will kick off on 13th September.

Mohammedan SC, who have qualified for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season, will play their home matches at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata. Their first ISL match in the stadium is scheduled for 16th September, where they will face NorthEast United FC at 7:30 PM. They played their I-League 2023-24 home matches at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium.

The Kishore Bharati Krirangan is a multi-purpose stadium in Kolkata that was restored and renovated in 2021. This year, the stadium hosted matches for the 133rd Durand Cup, including one match from Group A, four matches from Group B, and three from Group C.

Mohammedan SC played two games in this venue in this Durand Cup, drawing against Inter Kashi FC and securing a sole win against Indian Navy FT. However, they were unable to advance to the quarter-finals.

Mohammedan SC became the second club, after Punjab FC, from the I-league, to be promoted to the top tier by winning the I-League title.

The Black Panthers, one of the oldest football clubs in Indian football history, have gone through many ups and downs in recent years. The club was relegated from the I-League at the end of the 2013-14 season. In 2020, they won the I-League 2 to earn promotion back to the I-league, which is now the second-division football league in the nation.

The club won the I-League 2023-24 with 52 points, accumulating 15 wins and seven draws. They scored 44 goals while conceding 22 in the previous season of the I-League. The Kolkata-based club suffered only two losses, against Real Kashmir FC by a margin of 0-3 and against Delhi FC by a 1-3 margin.

The club won several awards in the I-League 2023-24. Padam Chettri received the Best Goalkeeper award, Mirjalol Kasimov was named Best Midfielder, and Andrey Chernyshov was honored with the Syed Abdul Rahim Award for Best Coach. Additionally, the club received the awards for Best Match Organisation and Participating Club with Best Media Operations.

With Mohammedan SC’s inclusion, the ISL now has a total of 13 clubs, including the historic Kolkata clubs Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Emami East Bengal FC.
