ISL 2024-25: Hugo Boumous, Sunil Chhetri highlight Matchweek 25 Team of the Week

Many Indian players impressed in the ISL match week 25.
The 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season is heading towards its business end and has wrapped its penultimate matchweek. Five teams have already qualified for the playoffs while two teams are in contention for the final spot. It all began with Bengaluru FC shattering East Bengal’s playoff aspirations with a late goal before NorthEast United hammered Chennaiyin with a 0-3 win away from home.
FC Goa got the better of Mohammedan SC with a 2-0 win followed by a spirited performance from Odisha FC in a do-or-die game. The Juggernauts not only emerged victorious against Jamshedpur FC, but have also kept their chances alive. Punjab FC thrashed Hyderabad with a 1-2 win in the City of Nizams. Kerala Blasters secured a hard fought 1-0 win over Mumbai City FC in the final game of gameweek 25.
On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 25.
Formation: 3-4-3
GK – Gurmeet Singh (NorthEast United FC)
Gurmeet stood out among all the goalkeepers this week in ISL and guided NorthEast United FC to a 0-3 win away from home. He was phenomenal between the sticks and recorded his seventh clean sheet of the season as the Highlanders cruised past Chennaiyin FC. He made six saves, including five saves from inside the box and two diving saves. Singh made 17 recoveries alongside two clearances and one high claim.
CB – Nim Dorjee Tamang (FC Goa)
Nim Dorjee stepped into FC Goa’s backline in the absence of Sandesh Jhingan this week in ISL. Dorjee gave a good account of himself and formed a solid partnership with Odei Onaindia at the back. He maintained a passing accuracy of 86% while winning all of his ground duels. The defender also made four ball recoveries, two interceptions and one block. Moreover, he has five passes into the final third and two touches in the opposition box.
CB – Milos Drincic (Kerala Blasters FC)

The Montenegrin defender shouldered the defensive duties to perfection for the Kerala Blasters against Mumbai City FC this week in ISL. He soaked up all the pressure that the opposition forwards threw at him and made seven clearances and one block in the process. Drincic also had a shot on target and completed 44/49 passes with an accuracy of 90%. He won 1/1 ground duel and made one ball recovery as well.
CB – Naocha Huidrom Singh (Kerala Blasters FC)
Naocha Huidrom Singh put up a performance worthy of a mention at the back for the Kerala Blasters. He made four clearances, three interceptions and two tackles and helped the Blasters maintain a clean sheet. The 25-year-old made five ball recoveries, completed 1/1 pass and won all of his aerial duels. Noacha maintained a passing accuracy of nearly 80% and executed one key pass in the process.
RM – Dejan Dražić (FC Goa)
Dejan Dražić put up yet another flawless performance in the colours of FC Goa this week in ISL. The Serbian completed four dribbles, the most by any player while creating one big chance from six key passes. Dražić had six touches in the opposition box and made seven recoveries alongside three tackles and one interception. He won eight duels and completed the majority of his long balls and crosses.

CM – Ayush Dev Chhetri (FC Goa)
Ayush displayed a mature performance for FC Goa in the middle of the park. It was a good week for the midfielder, who has also earned a national team call-up. Chhetri completed 51/57 passes while maintaining an accuracy of 89%. He created one big chance when he set up Iker Guarrotxena for the opening goal. The 21-year-old made ten recoveries and three tackles while winning 5/7 duels.
CM – Hugo Boumous (Odisha FC)

Hugo Boumous inspired Odisha FC to a much needed win this week and has helped his side keep their playoff aspirations alive. Boumous was everywhere on the pitch and troubled Jamshedpur FC to the core. The French midfielder executed three key passes while completing 88% passes, including 8/8 long balls. He created two big chances and scored one goal and racked up an assist as the Juggernauts pulled off a 2-3 win.
LM – Jithin MS (NorthEast United FC)
Jithin MS is undergoing his breakthrough ISL season with NorthEast United. The Kerala-born forward has established himself as one of the most lethal wingers in the league and is known for his pace and ability to take on defenders. Jithin executed a wonderful team move to perfection and scored a remarkable goal. He executed three key passes and two shots on target while recording one interception.
ST – Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC)

It’s been an eventful week for Sunil Chhetri. First he helped Bengaluru FC avoid a defeat with a late goal and then announced his return to the national team. Chhetri has been one of the best performers in the league this season and is enjoying his best ever ISL having scored 12 goals already. He had two shots on target and executed one key pass to perfection while completing 84% of his passes. The skipper also made three clearances and one tackle.
ST – Dorielton (Odisha FC)
Dorielton has come into the scene and has made a name for himself in the Indian top flight. Odisha FC’s latest entrant has emerged as the perfect replacement for Roy Krishna and has been involved in the thick of things since his arrival in Bhubaneswar. He scored his third goal of the season this week in ISL and guided his side to an important win. The Brazilian striker made four key passes with an accuracy of 76% and also created two big chances.
ST – Alaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC)
Alaaeddine Ajaraie continues his magic and has helped NorthEast United qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2020-21. The Moroccan is NorthEast United’s heart and soul and has played a major role in their turnaround this season. Ajaraie scored one goal and assisted two as the Highlanders settled scores with the hosts. He now has 28 goal contributions in the league with 21 goals and seven assists.
