The Next Generation Cup 2024 will start on 1st August 2024 in England.
The 2024 edition of the Next Generation Cup is set to return to England, with academy teams from England, India and South Africa competing against each other for the title next month.
Taking place from 1-4th August, the competition offers India’s brightest young talents to compete with equivalent age group teams from Premier League Academies and South African Premier Soccer League.
It will run over four match rounds, held at Ason Villa’s Bodymoor Training Ground, with two groups of four clubs playing each other before progressing to the final.
All the games will be 11-a-side and will be 50 minutes long, with two 25-minute halves being played each fixture, with the winner crowned at the Loughborough University Stadium.
The teams from India were chosen through the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL), with the top three teams, Punjab FC who were the winners, East Bengal the runners-up and Muthoot FA by finished third earning their qualification respectively.
The Next Generation Cup is part of the Premier League’s long-standing partnership with Football Sports Development Limited.
The relationship supports the player development journey of those involved, enabling them to have new cultural experiences and make friends with other young players from different countries. Many players who played in the Next Generation Cup have gone on to play for some big clubs in their respective countries.
