I-League, Santosh Trophy All Stars squad for India friendlies announced

The Blue Tigers play the games on May 17 and 20 respectively.
The Indian football team, who have begun their training camp in Kolkata, will be playing two practice matches against an All Stars team comprising of the best players from the I-League and the Santosh Trophy.
The two practice matches between the Indian senior men’s football team and the All Stars Team from the I-League and the Santosh Trophy will be played on May 17 and May 20.
A total of 21 players have been selected for the All Stars squad, which will be coached by Abhijit Mondal, who is also the goalkeeping coach at the Indian Arrows men’s team.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Blue Tigers faced ATK Mohun Bagan, who are preparing for their AFC Cup campaign, in a friendly behind closed doors. The Mariners run out 2-1 winners on the night with Liston Colaco and Kiyan Nassiri scoring for them, while Sunil Chhetri scored for the Indian football team.
Following their games against the All Stars, Igor Stimac’s side will head towards Doha for two international friendlies -- wherein they face Zambia and Jordan on 25 and 28 May respectively. With all this, the national team should ideally be prepared for the Asian Cup qualifiers where they are undoubtedly the favourites to seal the group stage drama this time.
Essentially, by having been paired alongside Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Cambodia who are all well behind in terms of FIFA Rankings.
