The Spaniard was the happiest man as his side came away with a commendable win against a tough opponent.
Odisha FC secured their third victory on the trot at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar after beating Mumbai City FC 2-0, courtesy goals from Aridane Santana and Xisco Hernandez, on Saturday. The victory also propelled Odisha to the fourth position in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 points table. After the fixture, Odisha head coach Josep Gombau addressed the media at the post-match press conference. He thanked the fans for their role in the team’s winning run. He said, “We are so happy to get a win here, in the stadium, in front of our fans. I think we’ve started our journey well in Odisha. We’ve won three games in a row. This shows how important it is for a team to play at home, and to play in front of these fans." [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "The fans helped us a lot today. Today we got a very good crowd. We want to share with them these three wins because they helped us to get them.” Sharing his opinion on the match, the Spaniard commented, “I think that we controlled the game, in the first and second half. First half, we created a lot of chances, but all the crosses we played in, didn’t result in the goal. We won a lot of corners. We played consistently." "In the second half, we scored early, and it brought us more confidence. We scored the second and had the opportunity to score another.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Having broken into the top four, the Odisha boss also urged his players to keep themselves focused. He stated, “Every game is different. Now we have six more games in front of us. It is important to go game by game. We have to play two away games now. But the team is doing well. " "We are working hard, and we need to be focused. Now, the next game is against Hyderabad on Wednesday," concluded Josep Gombau.Latest News
