SC East Bengal in Indian Super League
SC East Bengal under their head coach Robbie Fowler finished their ISL 2020-21 campaign in ninth place in the standings. As a result, he was replaced by Manolo Diaz at the start of the 2021-22 campaign, but that failed to bring desired success to the club.

Due to poor performances at the start of the season, the club parted ways with the Spaniard and gave interim charge to assistant coach Renedy Singh. But, as Renedy doesn’t have an AFC Pro License, the SCEB officials decided to hire Mario Rivera as their head coach. Changing coaches thrice had a poor impact on their performances and as a result, they finished at the bottom of the table with just a single win from 20 matches.
Club officials have already started preparing their squad for next season. They have roped in Nabi Hussain Khan, Mahitosh Roy and Suryash Jaiswal. East Bengal have also forged a strategic partnership with Sheikh Russel Krirachakra of Bangladesh. They have created a team of former players to scout talent from the I-League and Santosh Trophy. The club are also in talks with several coaches for the upcoming season.
