Confident about his team Arsenal's new Spanish boss seeks greener pastures at the Emirates.

Arsenal have come a long way since a historic 2003-04 season, when they won the Premier League title undefeated. However, after a decade, the Gunners have been a shadow of the ‘Invincibles’ team that brought them incredible glory in the past. Under Arsene Wenger, the focus had shifted from winning titles to finishing in the top four. In the past two seasons, they missed out on Champions League football after failing to finish in the top four in the Premier League.

After Wenger’s emotional departure, Unai Emery was appointed as the Frenchman's replacement. The Spanish manager is reportedly focused on halting the Gunners’ disappointing league run. In an interview with Sky Sports, the 46-year-old was asked whether he preferred finishing in the top four or winning the Europa League. “One choice? For me, the Europa League is very important”, he answered, “It is one title and I think for us, every title is the best way, the best performance, the best future.”

However, the former PSG and Sevilla boss is wary of the importance of the Premier League to the club and its fans and has his own say on it. “The Premier League is very important because I think it is the first competition of importance for us, as it gives us the big credibility on this season.”

“Thirty-eight matches give us and give our opponents, the clarity to show who is the best for the top four”, he added. In his first season, Emery is looking to groom the team according to his philosophy and put an end to Arsenal’s woeful run. Keeping that in mind, he further added, “It is clear that we have a very, very competitive team to do that- I am confident in my team.”
