The Ligue 1 champions have a task on their hands to replace some of the crucial players.

Over the years, Paris Saint Germain have made some big statement signings, right from roping in Neymar from FC Barcelona to signing Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco. PSG have flexed their financial muscle whenever it was necessary. Although now they have taken a more pragmatic approach mainly after Thomas Tuchel's arrival at the helm.

The German tactician has gone for smart deals than big names. He has signed Idrissa Gueye which turned out to be a stellar move for Les Parisiens. Players like Pablo Sarabia and Mauro Icardi have also signed in this phase and have paid big dividends.

But with a lot of defensive players like Thomas Meunier, Thiago Silva and Tanguy Kouassi leaving the club, Tuchel needs to bring in some defensive reinforcements and also freshen up the midfield with some new names.

Therefore we look at the top five possible transfer targets for PSG-Paris Saint Germain this summer:

Evan N'Dicka (CB)

A surprise inclusion to this list but with Tanguy Kouassi joining FC Bayern and Thiago Silva set to leave at the end of the season, PSG are in need of defensive reinforcements. The 20-year-old centre back is one of the highest-rated defenders in France. N'Dicka is versatile and can adjust himself according to the defensive system of a particular team.

He joined Eintracht Frankfurt from AJ Auxerre back in 2018 and since then has been one of the vital cogs in Adi Hutter's side. The Frenchman is left-footed and his agility and wide passing range also make him a viable option at left-back. His physicality, defensive astuteness and stark game reading make him a good option for Thomas Tuchel.

Despite being only 20, N'Dicka has great maturity on the ball and has even occasionally featured at centre defensive midfield. With the whole future ahead of him, joining PSG can be a step in the right direction for the Frenchman and considering a minimal £22m asking fee, it can be a good deal for both parties.

Ricardo Pereira (RB/RWB)

PSG need a horde of new defensive signings and Leicester City's Ricardo Pereira has been one of the top targets to replace Thomas Meunier who has left to join Borussia Dortmund. Pereira is currently sidelined due to a severe knee ligament damage during his side’s final game before the lockdown halted the football calendar.

The French champions are weighing a move for the Portugal international mainly due to his ability to play as a fullback and also as a wingback. Pereira has been a sensation on both attack and defensive fronts for Brendan Rodgers' team.

The Portuguese right-back is aggressive with his runs down the flank and his ability to create chances from wide areas of the field will make more of a threat with a 67% dribbles success rate. On the other hand, he has been one of the best tacklers in the Premier League with a 57% tackle success rate.

Dominik Szoboszlai (CM/CAM)

The Hungarian international has attracted attention from all across Europe due to his consistent performances for RB Salzburg in the last couple of seasons. Szoboszlai has been the ball progressor in the midfield, notching up 12 goals and 18 assists in all competitions for Jesse Marsch's side this term.

Clubs like Arsenal and AC Milan are weighing up a move for the Hungarian midfielder but as it stands, Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the teenage sensation. With Julian Draxler set to move out of the Parc des Princes, Szoboszlai can be an ideal replacement for the German. He can even slot in as a wide midfielder and also play as a second striker just behind Mauro Icardi, providing the versatility and energy that Thomas Tuchel needs in his ranks.

The 19-year old midfielder will come at around €25-30m and at that price, it is no brainer for the French champions to snap him up.

Fabian Ruiz (CM)

Another talented midfielder who is destined for big things in future. With clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG monitoring the Spaniard, it will be difficult for Napoli to keep hold of him this summer.

Fabian has been sensational for the Partenopei ever since making the €30m move from Real Betis in 2018. He has been the creative nucleus for Gennaro Gattuso's men where almost all the attacking buildups go through him. Fabian's creative brilliance coupled with finesse feet movement and dribbling skills can make him a proper midfield lynchpin for any team. Following his childhood idol Xavi, Fabian has similarities with the Spanish legend and can be the ideal man in midfield for PSG to play alongside an enforcer like Idrissa Gueye.

Considering that he is very valuable to Napoli, PSG may have to break the bank for the 24-year-old.

Milan Skriniar (CB)

Probably the biggest name in the list and definitely needed at the French capital especially when Thiago Silva is confirmed to leave at the end of their season. Antonio Conte is looking to shuffle the pack at Inter Milan and Milan Skriniar is one of the players who can be pushed out of San Siro this summer. Therefore the Slovakian centre back can be an ideal replacement for the experienced Brazilian.

The 25-year old defender has grown in stature at Inter Milan and is very comfortable to adjust himself according to a coach's demands. He can be the leader in that PSG defence and can also play the ball out from the back with relative ease. His wide range of passing and vision as a centre back is pretty underrated and was the main reason why he was roped in by the Nerazzurri.

Skriniar is pretty capable in all-round abilities as a centre back, starting from winning aerial duels. His ability to sniff danger and to be at the right position in defence makes him a very reliable man at the back. The Slovakia international is wanted by several clubs including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG.
