The English winger has himself mentioned his desire to take a new challenge elsewhere.

The statistics of Raheem Sterling speak for themselves. The Englishman is one of the top players in the Premier League and has represented two of the biggest clubs in English football; Liverpool and Manchester City. He has featured for more than 430 games combined for the two clubs and has gone on to achieve much success.

However, Sterling has played for only 412 minutes in the league in the 2021/22 season, scoring a single goal. His performances have slowly dipped since his breakout seasons from 2017-18 to 2019-20 where he was tearing the league apart. Therefore, some doubts have been looming over Sterling's consistency, his form, and future at the Etihad Stadium.

He has a lot to fight for to get into Manchester City's starting XI considering the quality of options in attack. Despite his commitment to Manchester City, Sterling himself mentioned that he would be excited to take on a new challenge elsewhere should it present itself. Therefore, it has thrown open the door for multiple clubs to sign the talismanic forward in the future.

Here are five clubs who should target Raheem Sterling and would benefit from the same.

5. Juventus

After nine seasons of domestic dominance, Juventus are currently facing a chastening spell in Serie A. They finished fourth last season, getting European football by the skin of their teeth.

This season, they currently sit at the seventh place and are 13 points off the top. Therefore, the Bianconeri need some radical changes in personnel. They also lost Cristiano Ronaldo this season which have dried up the goals. While Raheem Sterling can't replicate the prolific performances of the Portuguese, he can certainly add an attacking prowess to Juventus.

Despite his wealth of experience, Sterling is just 26 and has many more years ahead of him. His fast-paced nature will add more vigour to Juventus. Add Sterling with the ever hardworking Chiesa, McKennie, and Dybala - Juventus will possess an attack that is exciting, tireless, and prolific.

4. AC Milan

Another possible Serie A club which could target Raheem Sterling is AC Milan. The Rossoneri are undergoing a renaissance after some years in the wilderness. Milan currently possess a team full of exciting talents led by experienced players including Simon Kjaer, Olivier Giroud, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Add Sterling to the team and you have a mix of experience and youth. Sterling's arrival could also make him the main focus of the side. Stefano Pioli usually follows a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 formation with quick bursts of pace on the wide areas by wing-backs. These two formations would suit Sterling well playing on the left. His addition could even be the final piece in Milan establishing themselves at the top of Serie A once again.

3. FC Barcelona

The Spanish giants would be another club that could target Raheem Sterling. Despite their financial struggles, FC Barcelona were reportedly interested in signing the winger.

Sterling would suit and knows Barcelona's style of play having played under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Despite possessing Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay, Sterling brings more versatility and pace to the attack and would be a welcome addition. He could also settle in quickly considering he would have former Manchester City team-mate Sergio Aguero.

2. Tottenham Hotspur

In the summer, Manchester City were within touching distance of signing Harry Kane. The player who was made makeweight in the deal was Raheem Sterling.

Sterling could be an ideal replacement for Kane although it would be unrealistic to expect him to replicate the goalscoring feats of the England captain. The 26-year old will bring Premier League title-winning experience with him and could potentially make a great partnership with Son.

Therefore, Tottenham would benefit a lot from signing the three-time Premier League champion. But it remains to be seen if that would mean parting ways with their own talismanic striker.

1. Arsenal

The London giants are another club that could target Raheem Sterling. Despite their upturn in form, Arsenal's attack hasn't yet been at its best. Alexandre Lacazette is perennially linked with a move outside the club and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on the wrong side of 30.

Therefore, adding Sterling makes perfect sense. He would add goals, experience, leadership and is also a homegrown player. Similar to the other clubs, Sterling would also be the main player in the attack. Arteta can build the team around Sterling giving him more flexibility with his options. His experience despite his young age will make him invaluable to any club including Arsenal.

Therefore, Sterling ticks all the boxes for Arsenal. It would be exciting to see him link up with young guns such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, and Martin Odegaard.
