The manager seemed was happy as his side made it two wins out of two…
After a convincing win over FC Goa in their second game of the Indian Super League, NorthEast United FC are top of the table with two wins out of two. After an impressive performance by his team Head Coach Nelo Vingada seemed quite pleased when he met the press after the game. “I think the most important thing is that our team knows how to respect Goa. We finished very well, kept possession. Today was a good game. I have been in many Asian and Portuguese leagues and this game can be considered a good game in any league”, he commented. Talking about the injuries during the match, he said that Mailson Alves who suffered a knock in today’s game may miss the next match, otherwise the team is fine, except for the tiredness of playing tough football for 90 minutes. Commenting on the replacement of Fabio Neves by Robert Cullen, he said it is just some technical problem due to which they have not got the VVV Venlo striker yet. “He only needs to sort out his visa. The Indian embassy is working very slowly and so I hope they got the message to work faster so we can get him as quick as we can.”he commented. In the next game the Highlanders have to face Mumbai City FC, which is going to be a potential high voltage clash as Mumbai have also started their season with a win against a strong FC Pune City team. About the next game Vingada said that winning momentum of his team will deliver the best against Mumbai City FC also. “Our team is the team who plays three games in six days. We have less than 72 hours for us. But I am confident to keep the balance with five Indians and six foreigners. With good players Mumbai is a very tough opponent, but we hope to make our game tough for them, because we have quality players in our side also,” he finished.Report by Himangshu Rajkhowa- Khel Now Correspondent from Guwahati.
