Neymar is set to miss the tournament with an injury
In an attempt to win back the championship, Brazil have announced their team for the 2024 Copa América.
In order to atone for their defeat against Argentina in the tournament’s previous edition, which took place on home territory, the Seleçao will go to the United States.
Dorival Júnior, the head coach, has selected a 23-man team that is loaded of talents but also lacks some huge names. Neymar is out due to injury, and players like Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, and Casemiro have been left off the roster.
The titans of South America are in Group D, which also includes Paraguay, Colombia, and Costa Rica.
Brazil will have an opportunity to restore their title as the top team in North and South America in this year’s finals. The Selecao had a rough end to 2023 after losing three straight World Cup qualifiers, notably one at home against Argentina, the reigning champions.
But under Dorival Jr., who was named the team’s new official manager in January, the team gained some fresh momentum with a victory over England at Wembley Stadium and an exciting draw with Spain over the March international break.
