Top five clubs who can sign Johan Bakayoko in summer 2024
The stocks of Bakayoko have only grown after refusing to move to England a season earlier
The Eredivisie champions have a great talent in their ranks. Johan Bakayoko had turned down the Premier League opportunity before, having refused the chance to join Burnley and Brentford. He did this because he did not want to rush his progress and grow more at PSV.
Bakayoko’s choice ultimately paid off as now many top clubs are looking to sign him because of his performance throughout the 2023-24 season. The Belgian attacker has scored 12 goals and assisted 10 times in 32 appearances for PSV in Eredivisie this season.
Let’s take a look at the top five clubs that can sign Johan Bakayoko in the summer of 2024.
5. Manchester United
The Red Devils do not have many options left in the winger position. Anthony Martial is set to leave the club meanwhile Marcus Rashford often finds himself playing in different positions. The only fixed position on the wing is of Garnacho, who plays as a left-winger.
With Antony out of form, Bakayoko can fill in that position and play as a right-winger. Bakayoko is a creative winger who has dribbling, crossing and passing abilities, which executed efficiently can help Manchester United‘s attack a lot.
4. Liverpool
Many rumours are circulating regarding the departure of Liverpool‘s star wingers Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah. These rumours have arisen after Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave the club after ten years at the helm.
In the case of Salah, Bakayoko can perfectly fill in his position. A left-footed right-winger who is just 21 years old only has room to grow. Bakayoko could certainly provide competition to Mohamed Salah and even fill in his boots if the Egyptian were to leave Anfield.

3. Arsenal
The Gunners are the only team to have faced and witnessed Johan Bakayoko’s talent first-hand. Arsenal faced PSV in the UEFA Champions League this season.
In the first fixture, PSV drew 1-1 with Arsenal and Bakayoko put in a tremendous performance. Johan Bakayoko completed five successful dribbles and had a 93 per cent pass completion rate. Bakayoko was a nightmare for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in that fixture.
Arsenal will definitely try their best to not lose such a talent to other rival Premier League clubs.
2. Atletico Madrid
The Los Rojiblancos are most likely to lose their winger João Félix to FC Barcelona. Furthermore, Atletico Madrid‘s playing style has changed a lot and they are displaying attacking football often rather than only defensive football.
Johan Bakayoko can fill in for Ángel Correa who is playing currently as a right-winger for Atletico Madrid. Bakayoko on the other hand is 21 years old whereas Correa is 29 years old. The latter’s contract is set to expire in 2026. Bakayoko would be a perfect replacement and option for Atletico Madrid in the long run.
1. Paris Saint Germain
The French champions are going to lose their biggest player this season. Kylian Mbappe is set to leave Paris Saint Germain and potentially join Real Madrid. Even Marco Asensio is not in the best form of his career at PSG.
At this stage, Johan Bakayoko can definitely give competition to Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele who are the only starting XI wingers PSG have left.
