Harm Osmers to officiate Der Klassiker at Allianz Arena this weekend
Bayern Munich are 10 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen
This weekend’s match between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund will be officiated by Harm Osmers. The 39-year-old Hanoverian Harm Osmers will referee a game between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund.
He started as a DFB referee in 2009 and was promoted to the 2. Bundesliga in 2011. He has been a fourth referee and assistant referee in the Bundesliga since 2011.
He made an appearance for his country on July 15, 2015, when he assisted Daniel Siebert during Celtic vs. Stjarnan’s UEFA Champions League qualifying match. Osmers was one of four officials elevated to Bundesliga officiating in the summer of 2016.
In the Bundesliga, things are getting back to business. For Bayern, this means that their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen will resume with a titanic matchup against Dortmund, their Der Klassiker opponents.
The hosts are in good form heading into their 110th meeting with the opposition, winning their last three games across all competitions and scoring an astounding 16 goals.
Six of those goals were scored by Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick for Bayern in their season-opening match. However, the Bundesliga’s top scorer will have to work quickly to make an appearance this weekend after missing his nation’s last few games due to an ankle injury he sustained against Darmstadt.

Due to a muscle fibre rupture, captain Manuel Neuer is also a serious doubt for the record champions, therefore Sven Ulreich is expected to make his ninth appearance in the top division this season.
Dortmund may also take pride in their current winning run, as Edin Terzić’s team just achieved four straight victories in all competitions for the first period of a year.
Similar to their opponents this weekend, the Black-and-Yellows are enjoying success in the UEFA Champions League. They aim to return to the top table of European football in 2024–25 after a strong Bundesliga finish, which will motivate the team now in fourth position.
