Jobe Bellingham's family BANNED from entering Dortmund's dressing room: Report

Jobe’s father confronted the club’s sporting director after the Bundesliga season opener.

Following the alleged altercation involving Jobe Bellingham’s father on Saturday during a Bundesliga match, Borussia Dortmund have tightened their dressing room procedures by prohibiting all family members from the area.

In the 85th minute of their Bundesliga campaign opener, the club led 3-1 at St Pauli, but they wasted the lead to draw 3-3.

Bellingham’s parents, Mark and Denise, reportedly added to the stress surrounding that outcome by leaving their home after witnessing their son being substituted off at halftime during his German League debut and waiting in the tunnel at full time to address the Dortmund management about it.

Mark, who also serves as his son’s counsellor, had an emotional conversation with Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of Dortmund, according to Sky Sports Germany.

According to the report, Bellingham senior expressed his displeasure with the team’s performance as a whole, as well as the substitution.

According to BILD, Mark “made no secret of his opinion” and directly requested to meet with manager Niko Kovac.

It is also claimed that some players witnessed his emotional outburst, which was stoked by the dismal performance as well as his son’s early substitution.

Club’s managing director bans Jobe’s family from dressing room

However, while discussing the matter on Sunday night, Lars Ricken, the managing director of Dortmund, downplayed the significance of the conversation, stating that it was “not a problem.” However, he did affirm that such an occurrence will not occur again, as family members are now prohibited from that area.

‘We got Jobe Bellingham because we really built a relationship of trust with the parents over the years. Now the family flew in especially for their son’s first Bundesliga game and wanted to meet Jobe after the game,’ Ricken told Sky90 – The Football Debate.

‘They stood in the hallway to the locker room and had an emotional conversation with Sebastian, which, however, is not a problem at all given this relationship.’

‘In the future though, we will ensure that players, coaches, and any officials have access to the locker room area, so that we no longer get into trouble by commenting on such news.’

‘But today everything has been resolved – no drama.’
