The Old Lady are 15 points adrift from the top amidst their recent poor league run

Juventus may have collected a decent number of points in the Serie A table but they lag very far behind the dominant title chasers Inter Milan. Bianconeri are on 57 points after 27 league games which keeps them in second place. Inter have 72 points in the same period. A 2-1 defeat to Napoli last game meant Massimiliano Allegri’s side have only won once in last six games.

Unlike the Old Lady, Atalanta were kept busy mid-week due to the European competition schedule. The Bergamo-based club from Italy were at the Estádio José Alvalade in Portugal to face Sporting CP. Gianluca Scamacca’s equalizing goal helped them earn a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Round of 16 UEFA Europa League tie. La Dea stands sixth in the Italian first-tier standings but have won thrice more games in the last six league matches than the hosts.

Kick-Off:

Sunday, 10 March 2024 at 5:00 PM UK (10:30 PM IST)

Location: Allianz Stadium

Form

Juventus (in all competitions): L-W-D-L-L

Atalanta (in all competitions): D-L-L-D-W

Players to Watch

Arkadiusz Milik (Juventus)

With Dušan Vlahović set to miss this big game because of suspension, Arkadiusz Milik is the likely replacement. The 30-year-old Polish forward may not have goals to show for like Vlahović but he is an experienced player. Milik has scored 5 goals in all competitions this season.

Charles De Ketelaere (Atalanta)

The 22-year-old Belgium international plays a crucial role in forming a part of the attacking threat for Atalanta. Charles De Ketelaere has played every league game for the season apart from one in which he had a knee problem. So far De Ketelaere has produced a balanced output for his side. 6 goals and 6 assists in 25 appearances.

Match Facts

  • The reverse fixture saw no goals from any side as that game ended 0-0 at the Gewiss Stadium
  • Atalanta have won thrice more games than Juventus in the last six respective league fixtures
  • Allegri’s team sit second in the division but 15 points below Inter

Injury & Team News

Against Napoli, Dušan Vlahović received a yellow card. And since it was his fifth of the season, the 15 league goal forward will serve a one-match suspension. Carlos Alcaraz picked up a right hamstring problem in training so will be out as well. Rest of the players to miss the Atalanta clash include Weston McKennie, Adrien Rabiot, Moise Kean, Mattia De Sciglio and goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

The visiting side head coached by Gian Piero Gasperini doesn’t have any player out with an injury. The only player who will miss the trip travel to Turin is right-back Emil Holm. Holm has a similar reason for absence to Vlahović.

Match Prediction for Juventus vs Atalanta

The recent results aren’t highlighting anything positive about the second place Juventus. In the last six league games, they managed to win just once.
