The Cityzens are currently enduring a dismal run of form in all competitions.

When Manchester City face Aston Villa in the Premier League 2024-25 on Saturday afternoon, they will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Following a late-minute 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the Manchester derby last weekend, the Cityzens are now in fifth place in the Premier League standings, nine points below leaders Liverpool, who still have one game left.

Man City have not won eight of their past 11 contests, winning just once, and there will be a heavy burden on Pep Guardiola’s team to put three points on the board when they embark on their away trip to Villa Park.

Ahead of the meeting against Unai Emery’s side, who have won three of their previous four games across all competitions, we compile the most recent injury and suspension news for Man City.

Manchester City injury news ahead of Aston Villa game

Rodri had a catastrophic knee injury in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September, and Man City are still without him. The Spaniard has subsequently provided a favourable update on his recuperation, though, and it has been claimed that he might return to action before the 2024–25 season ends.

Although Oscar Bobb’s exact return date is still unknown, Guardiola anticipates the attacker will be back to action by February after he fractured a bone in his leg during a practice session in August.

The Dutch international Nathan Ake is now facing another stint on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during the final moments of Man City’s victory over Nottingham Forest on December 4.

Following their Manchester derby loss last weekend, Man City manager Pep Guardiola has disclosed that Ruben Dias may be sidelined for up to four weeks due to a muscular injury.

“[Manuel] Akanji and John Stones are back in training which is good for us,” Guardiola continued when asked whether there was any additional injury news.

Man City have no suspension concerns for this match. Rico Lewis, who was suspended for the Manchester derby, will return to the team for the Aston Villa game.
