Manchester United submit audacious bid for Lille defender Leny Yoro: Report
Real Madrid are also interested in signing the French defender.
Manchester United made an ambitious offer to recruit LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer.
Yoro is carving out himself as one of the most potent young centre-backs in European football since coming into Lille’s first team at the tender age of just 16 in 2022.
The Frenchman now turned 18, performed a significant role for Lille this past campaign as the club earned UEFA Champions League qualification with the third-best defensive performance in Ligue 1, a tally improved by only PSG and OGC Nice.
He also grabbed a glimpse of the Europa Conference League before Paulo Fonseca’s side got blown out by Aston Villa in a shootout in the quarter-finals.
However, talks are rising that Yoro might be destined for bigger and greater things shortly, with numerous of Europe’s premier teams said to be queueing up for his signing.
While Real Madrid have been in communication with Yoro’s entourage for some time, Marca reports Manchester United have ‘moved swiftly’ and gained the spotlight with an offer ‘above the average” for the centre-half, thought to be in the range of €60 million (£51 million).
It comes amid suggestions that Yoro and his team spoke to the United manager at Wembley, where the kid teenager was in the audience for Real Madrid’s Champions League final success against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.
Madrid have made obvious their keenness in Yoro and has asked the player and his counsel – super-agent Jorge Mendes – to patiently wait for their response while they decide their preparations for the transfer window in the summer.

The source states that Yoro has ‘always expressed’ his desire to make an impact at the Bernabeu, but the France Under-23 national may have to concede that Madrid will not equal the Red Devils, from a strictly financial viewpoint.
The newly declared Champions League and LaLiga champions consider Yoro as an ‘advantageous execution’ and understand that it is hard to avoid bidding competition for some players.
Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have additionally been connected with the youngster, who will soon come into the last 12 months of his deal with the French club, Lille.
