The Red Devils finished eighth this season in the Premier League

Manchester United expected to part ways with Erik ten Hag after FA Cup 2023-24 final. The club’s management has identified three possible successors following their FA Cup matchup with Manchester City, according to Gianluca di Marzio of Sky Sports Italia.

The former Ajax manager’s job at Old Trafford was mostly in jeopardy throughout the better part of 2023–24 as his team crashed out of the Champions League as soon as feasible.

Ten Hag’s soldiers have even deceived with flattery on a home level. Even though they guided the 20-time English champions to eighth place in the Premier League, they were unable to guarantee European football for the 2024–25 season, which is much below average by their standards.

But if they defeat Pep Guardiola’s team on May 25 in the FA Cup final, they’ll qualify for the Europa League. However, it is anticipated that Ten Hag, who has managed 113 club appearances, will not hold the position when the upcoming season rolls around.

Who can replace Erik ten Hag?

As per the previously stated Di Marzio article, they remain expecting’ that Kieran McKenna of Ipswich City will become their new manager replacing Ten Hag, but they are also considering the Premier League-tested combination of Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino.

According to the Dutch website Soccernews, the story suggests that McKenna, who was the club’s assistant coach from July 2018 to December 2021, was the “man of the moment in the football world.” It further claims that Manchester United have already made communication with the Ipswich man.

But if McKenna—who is also expected to take over as Brighton & Hove Albion’s manager—isn’t available, the team will focus on Pochettino, who was just fired from his position at Stamford Bridge.
