Brothers, Jonny and Corry Evans return to the squad for the upcoming international break

Jonny Evans and Corry Evans have been recalled to the Northern Ireland team for the June internationals against Spain and Andorra.

The 36-year-old defender for Manchester United, Jonny Evans, was “still very much a part of things” according to head coach Michael O’Neill even though he missed games in March against Romania and Scotland.

Next month, the former Leicester City player will get the chance to increase his tally of 106 caps for his country. After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in January 2023, Corry Evans did not compete for Northern Ireland. However, the 33-year-old resumed practising with the team in March, and he will be freed by Sunderland at the conclusion of the agreement next month.

Pierce Charles, the custodian for Sheffield Wednesday and the brother of midfielder Shea Charles, has made his debut in the senior squad.

Without a cap, The 26-man roster also includes Aaron Donnelly, who is back along with Dale Taylor and Ethan Galbraith.

Due to their participation in the March friendlies, Ali McCann, Paddy McNair, and George Saville will not be travelling, and Derby County striker Conor Washington is still not available.

On June 8 in Mallorca, O’Neill’s team will go up against Spain, who will compete in Euro 2024, and on June 11 in Murcia, they will play Andorra.
