The Italian first tier’s second-highest top scorer is among the names
The Serbia national football team have finally unveiled their 26-man roster for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. The 2024 edition is set to play out in Germany from 15 June to 15 July.
The Serbian head coach, Dragan Stojković was the man behind the selection. Stojković has been managing the national side since his appointment back in March 2021. Before the group stage games of the competition, the Eagles have two friendly fixtures lined up, against Austria and later Sweden.
Their qualification status was in jeopardy until matchday 10 of the UEFA European Championship Qualifiers. A 2-2 draw against Bulgaria was enough as Montenegro who were also competing for a spot in Euro 2024 suffered a 3-1 to Hungary.
In the Euro 2024, we will see them in group stage action with nations – England, Slovenia and Denmark in Group C. Stojković’s men will be taking on the England national football team in their opening game on 17 June. The match will be played out at the Veltins-Arena, the home of football club FC Schalke 04.
In the 26-man roster, we see Djordje Petrovic of Chelsea among the chosen goalkeepers. The 24-year-old had a decent game time in the 2023-24 Premier League making 23 appearances. There are only six defenders while the midfield have been decently stacked. Captain Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milenkovic-Savic of Al-Hilal and Juventus’s Filip Kostic are some of the big names.
In the attack, Serie A second top scorer Dusan Vlahovic will likely be the main man and will be given competition from Aleksandar Mitrovic for the starting spot. The following list will reveal all the selected 26 players for Serbia for the upcoming Euro 2024.
