The Argentine star missed Inter Miami’s 2-1 win over Vancouver

Lionel Messi skipped the journey to British Columbia, which saddened thousands of expensive ticket buyers for Inter Miami’s Saturday victory against Vancouver Whitecaps in addition to the DeLucas.

And now, once again he might be unavailable to play in Miami’s next game against Atlanta United on Wednesday.

Not just Messi, but other renowned players also missed the game. Even if this might have upset more than 50,000 paying fans in Vancouver, Messi’s absence benefits the sport overall, particularly in the US.

Messi‘s health is crucial since he is a transcendent player with global appeal. It is not ideal for him to play three games in a week. It is not a good sight, playing on the turf field while also requiring 12–14 hours of travel when he has been dealing with a recent left leg injury. This is especially true since the weight of his team, the sport, and his own country will all be on his shoulders soon.

Before the 2024 Copa America, Lionel Messi has four games left for both Inter Miami and the Argentina national team, friendlies included.

On Wednesday, May 29, Inter Miami will take on Atlanta United at Chase Stadium. On June 1, they play St. Louis in Miami for their second encounter.

On June 3, he will report to the Argentina national team to begin preparations for Copa America games with two friendlies. The first game takes place in Chicago on June 9th versus Ecuador.

Next month, Messi will turn 37. He is nearing the end of a great career that has earned him the ‘GOAT’ status. Though he still seems to be in his prime, his career is coming to an end nevertheless.

In a match earlier this month, Messi scored a goal and provided five assists. In his first eight MLS games of the season, he has either a goal or an assist. Before getting hurt on May 11 in Montreal, on the opposite side of Canada, he had scored a goal and provided an assist in four straight games.

In 27 games overall, Messi has 23 goals and 16 assists. Inter Miami are leading the MLS Eastern Conference table thanks to major inputs from the Argentinian.
