Interlagos Circuit has produced some of the most historical moments in F1.

Formula 1 lands in Brazil for the penultimate round of 2022. The titles have been sealed, but however, there still are a few things to look out for in the coming event which always promises a lot. Interlagos has produced some of the most historical moments in Formula 1 over the years.

There were clouds of uncertainty over the Brazil GP but it has been cleared. There has been political unrest after the presidential elections where Bolsonaro was defeated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Some roadways were blocked by Bolsonaro supporters in order to show their disappointment. However, all this will have no effect on the event, confirmed by F1.

Standings

There is nothing left from the championship point of view. However, things are still a bit interesting in the constructor's championship table. While Alpine and McLaren battle it out for being the best midfield team, Aston Martin has made jumps over Haas and Alpha Tauri and is now targetting to finish above Alfa Romeo in the standings who are just three points ahead. Haas are just one point ahead of Alpha Tauri in P8.

Hamilton's first victory awaits

Since his F1 debut in 2007, it's the first time that Lewis Hamilton hasn't won a race in the season. This season, he has come close a few times but it was yet too far for him. Ever since Mercedes sorted out their setup issues, Hamilton has been challenging for victory but the car just isn't there.

Last time out in Brazil, Hamilton put up an astonishing display on the track. For the sprint race, he was sent to the back of the grid but he ended the race P5. He later received a five-place penalty for a new ICE and started the feature race at P10. However, that only glorified the weekend he had. He finished the race as the winner and got closer to Verstappen in the 2021 championship fight again.

Anticipating that, it's expected that Hamilton will put up something similar again. However, the situations have much changed over the 12 months. Over the last week, he has been rewarded as the Honorary Citizen of Brazil. So that could be an added advantage for him on his new 'home' track.

Streams and Timings

There will be a sprint race on Saturday which will determine the final starting grid for Sunday. The sprint race grid order will be decided by the normal three qualification rounds. According to the Indian Standard Time, the first practice session will commence at 9 PM. The qualifications will start at 12:30 midnight. Procedures the next day will start with the final practice session at 9 PM. Sprint will start at 1 AM and the feature race at 11:30 PM the following night.
